A Company History That Starts With Fishing, Some Say
James had an idea, probably while he was fishing, to start a business in 2007 with two goals.
Number one: help small to medium-sized businesses grow with a solid digital strategy using search engines that would increase their visibility to potential customers while demonstrating the value behind a strong online presence.

Sales Representative / Digital Media Advisor
Reporting to the VP of Sales, this role adds to our existing team to expand our presence in the digital marketing space over the next few years. This position is ideal for the person who is passionate about helping small and medium businesses grow. As digital marketing spend is expected to expand rapidly over 2021 and 2022, now is a great time to get on board with SMI to grow your sales career.
The Successful Candidate
We recognize that sales just isn’t for everyone (it can be a tough job after all) and that no one individual will have all the attributes of the perfect salesperson. That said, there are some qualities that we really like. We want someone who is a self-starter, someone who wants to earn good money by providing a much-needed service. We will help you with direction and knowledge, but it’s up to you to put the work in to gain the most from the position.
You will be responsible for targeting key verticals that need our services and want to grow.

- You will develop target accounts and make calls to generate interest and explain the benefits of working with SMI.
- Generate new leads by making cold calls, calling on inactive accounts and developing expertise within key verticals and markets.
- Most interactions will be by phone, email, and video calls.
- Educate customers about the features and benefits of digital marketing.
- Keep up to date on new service offerings from Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and others.
- You will collaborate with our Client Success team to create dynamic digital media strategies.
- You will have at least 2 years of B2B sales experience.
- Have experience in developing self-generated opportunities from prospecting and discovery through closing.
- Ideally. you will have experience in PPC, advertising, web development, SEO sales or similar.
- Have experience in using CRM’s.
- You take your work seriously, but not necessarily yourself!
